Roseau, Dominica: August 10, 2009
The Dominica Festivals Committee (DFC) through the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) alongside Platinum Sponsor ‘Digicel' launched the 13th Annual World Creole Music Festival at the Fort Young Hotel on Tuesday 11th August 2009.
The World Creole Music Festival will be held from Friday 30th October to Sunday 1st November 2009 at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. World renowned performers hailing from Martinique, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, and Paris, Chicago and Miami will form part of this year's line up which will be made Official at the Media Launch.
Invitees to the Media Launch included Government Officials, Sponsors and other key stake holders of the festival. Addresses came from Minister of Tourism, Mr. Ian Douglas; Chairman of the DDA Board, Mr. Bennoit Bardouille; Chairman of the DFC, Mr. Colin Piper and Events Director, Mr. Val Cuffy. Attendees will also hear from Platinum Sponsor, Digicel and other Corporate Sponsors.
The line-up for the “Three Nights of Pulsating Rhythms” will include:
Friday, October 30th- Swinging Stars; La Perfecta; MFR band; Patrick St. Eloi; Zin and Alan Cave; and Machine A Swinger
Saturday, October 31st: Dlux Band; Icons of Zouk; Sweet Mickey; Morgan Heritage; Triple Kay International and Caribbean Vibes.
Sunday, November 1st : WCK; Cadence Icons; Maxi Priest; Michele Henderson; Roy Cape All Stars and Nature Boys.
The Media Launch is an introduction to the signature events to be held during this year's Independence celebration and persons will be highlighted on activities surrounding the three nights of vivacious rhythms. Highlights of these activities include:

Heritage Day in Colihaut
LIME Creole in the Park
NBD Kweyol Bod La Mer
It is anticipated that the 13th Annual World Creole Music will be launched at key destinations in the upcoming weeks.
