Creole Day/ Creole Day National Parade

The Creole Day is set for October 30th, 2009. the National Parade is set for that date and features major highlights of Dominica's National Culture.
National Wob Dwiyet Show
Date: 29 October, 2009 (In 17 Days)
Dominica, Canefield, Old Mill Cultural Center
Description:
The Miss Wob Dwiyet is held every year during the Independence celebration. It is a major event anticipated by many of the Dominican patrons and visiting nationals since it features beautiful young ladies from variuos parishes in Dominica. one of the main highlights of the Miss Wob Dwiyet show is the "Wob" worn at the latter end. the young ladies display beauty and poise in cultural style. the show will take place on Thursday October 29th, 2009 at the Old Mill Cultural Center from 8:30pm.
Creole In The Park
Date: October 26th - October 29th, 2009
Place: Dominica, Roseau, Botanical Gardens
Description:
LIME Creole in the Park is a concept which was born in 2003 from the need to satisfy the demand for a day event for local and visiting patrons during Dominica's annual Independence season. It was also an idea for a fringe event to complement the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF).
The first Cable & Wireless Creole in the Park would take place over a four-day period in the week leading up to the 7th WCMF and would be located in the Northern section of the historic Botanical Gardens bordering on Valley Road in the capital Roseau.
Sweet Music of Jing Ping music blended with steelpan, cadence and bouyon music. Old friends were reunited and new friendships made. From stage performances, Creole Cuisine, and local Creole products...these are the sights, sound and smell of Cable and Wireless Creole in the Park. October 26 - October 29 2009 at the Botanical Gardens - Dominica.
Heritage Day in Giraudel Eggleston

Place: Dominica, Roseau, Colihaut
Description:
Heritage Day celebrates the past lives of our Dominican Ancestors. It enlightens individuals on what allows us to be true Dominican people and brings nationals together as one community. Heritage Day usually takes place in a different village every year. This year we will roam the streets of Giraudel Eggleston and join in the Cultural music, dance and food on October 25th, 2009. Every one is invited!
Digicel Red River Jamboree
Date: 24 October, 2009
Place: Dominica, Roseau, Layou Park near the Layou River
Description:
An All inclusive family event with local music, foods. This will feature the Fanatik Band, Jeff Joe of Grammacks, Lapeau Kabwit, Steel Pan and others... the event will also feature the 1st Annual hand Domino event organised in collaboration with the Dominica National Domino Association!!

Ophelia 30th Anniversary Concert

Description:
Ophelia Marie is our very own Dominican singer. She is quite famous in the french islands for her creole and french rythms. this year Ophelia celbrates 30 years in the music business in grand style at the Krazy Kokonuts located in Castle Comfort. COME FETE WITH OPHELIA!!! Ticket Prices to be announced!

The official Launch Cocktail of the World Creole Music Festival is a sigature event. this being since it is an actual launch of all the activities to be held two weeks prior to the big event, the World Creole Music Festival.
